Near instant

You can now create a well-stylized PDF template in seconds….just 2 clicks.  Here’s how it works:

  • Launch the XForms Designer and load or create a new form template
  • After building a form template or editing an existing one, click on the edit button next to the PDF Template label, which is located in the template details section toward the top of the screen
  • On the bottom right of the popup, click on the “Create New Template” button

Here’s a quick animated gif illustrating this feature.

When you are done creating the new PDF template, you can view the code by clicking on the PDF Templates menu on the left navigation pane.

You can view this HTML code in codebeautify.org or similar online HTML viewer.  To do that, copy the PDF code that was generated, and paste it into codeabeautify.org.  Here’s what the PDF version of the Facility Inspection Report illustrated above looks like.  It even includes your company logo on the top left!  All automatically!

And here’s what it looks like in PDF format after a form has been submitted into XForms.

Totally customizable

What’s really cool about this is that the HTML code generated by the auto-PDF generator is completely customizable.  If you know HTML, you can change pretty much anything you want in there: fonts, sizes, colors, headers, borders, footer information, logo placement, additional content, etc.  And with the auto-PDF generator now in place, you can get a nicely styled, totally customizable PDF template in literally seconds, right out of the box.
